Needs assessment

End-users of any system can drive the need for digital health solutions. The need is based on a problem or inspired by digital solutions applied to domains other than healthcare or unfolds as part of a discovery process between end-users and developers. As there is a wide range of stakeholders with various states of autonomy, perspectives, terminologies, and regulatory contexts, it can be challenging to come to an agreed understanding of what needs to be addressed. However, developing a digital solution without a proper need assessment will result in a solution with misleading claims or poor quality [1].
