No 'one size fits all' solution

In order to get the most from the partnerships, the ‘collaboration model’ should be adapted to suit the situation. This might include:

  • the collaboration goals – what the collaboration is trying to achieve
  • the type of partner, e.g. academia, pharmaceutical companies, Regulatory Authorities, patients and other stakeholders.

As a result, a number of different collaboration models are used in the pharmaceutical industry. Figure 4 shows some examples, such as crowd sourcing and strategic partnerships. However, there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution, but a spectrum of cooperation models.
