Hypothesis testing

Hypothesis testing is the use of statistics to determine the probability that a hypothesis is true. It comprises four steps:
1. Formulate the null hypothesis.
2. Choose the appropriate statistical tests.
3. Perform the test.
4. Accept or reject the null hypothesis.
